Staying with the Trouble in Painting (swttip) est une installation évolutive réalisée sur un mur de 3 m de haut de 20 de long, dans le passage public du Building Canebière, 73-75 la Canebière, 13001 Marseille, entre le 25 août et le 5 Novembre 2020. Pour cette exposition ont été invités plus de soixante plasticiens de nationalités et de générations diverses à produire chacun une proposition en noir et blanc. L’affichage se fait par ordre de réception et à l’emplacement sur le mur choisi par chacun des artistes. Jour après jour se superposent les affiches qui se fondent dans une œuvre collective où les formes se rencontrent, apparaissent et disparaissent de façon aléatoire, questionnant autant la notion d’auteur que la pérennité de l’œuvre art.

Staying with the trouble in Painting (swttip) is a performative installation which is acted out on a 3 meter high and 20 meter long wall, in Passage Canebière - 73-75 la Canebière, 13001 Marseille - from the 25th of August to the 5th of November 2020. Around sixty artists from various generations and nationalities have been invited to propose a black and white poster linked to their practice. Posters appear on the wall in the order of their reception, in the position determined by each artist’s chosen coordinates. As time passes, the posters superimpose or cover one another completely, their blending is the collective work. Forms appear, meet and disappear randomly, questioning in an experimental way the concept of Author and
the sustainability of an artwork.
